Burnt the New Foodie Movie for Bradly Cooper

Every foodie has a dream of opening his own restaurant where he can share his passion with the world. Bradley Cooper's new movie Burnt, shows us that opening a restaurant is one of the most challenging experiences especially if the chef is aiming for Michelin stars. Burnt is an American comedy-drama movie that tells the story of Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) a chef who became notoriously famous for destroying his restaurant in Paris and who got addicted to drinking and drugs. Jones wants to make his comeback by opening his own restaurant but this time in London. He will be helped by some old friends and betrayed by others but in the end we will learn that each one gets what he deserves.

The movie takes you behind the scenes of what happens in premium restaurants with the preparation of gastronomic dishes and with some wonderful shots of pieces of art dishes.

We have to praise the amazing acting skills of Cooper. Sienna Miller who plays the role of Helen, added charm and emotions to the movie. They made a perfect duo together.

We enjoyed watching Burnt and we advise every foodie to go and watch it. (By foodie we mean everyone because we all love food).

La Strada a New Italian Restaurant in Bourj Hammoud

Pizza is one of the most beloved meals for Lebanese people. That's why we see pizzerias opening here and there every week and every day. As easy as it looks it's very hard to prepare a catchy pizza that makes you come back again. Our latest visit was to La Strada in Bourj hammoud few blocks away from Bedo. The place is more of a quick bite/ take away place as they don't have a toilet, it's a self service restaurant. The menu is focused on pizzas, with two choices of salads, and some appetizers.

We ordered a traditional and a four cheese pizza.

• Let's start with the dough, it was more of a man2oush. The sauce was salty and by adding the other ingredients the pizza became saltier especially the four cheese because it has the gorgonzola cheese.

• The traditional pizza contained ham, cheese, olives and mushrooms. We replaced the ham with pepperoni which turned out to be not of a good quality.

• The cheeses used in the four cheese were delicious and we could feel the gorgonzola but the dough ruined the taste.
• We accompanied the pizzas with fries because they are best friends they were crunchy but a bit salty.

Overall both pizzas were average and not encouraging to come again.

Average price: 12$ per person.

Chocolate Bar a Chocolate Bar Heaven

Winter is here and our chocolate craving triples during this season so we were searching for new dessert shops and our latest discovery was Chocolate Bar in Hamra, next to Starbucks and Laziz. The place is not that big so if you are going during peak hours get ready to wait 10 minutes but it's worth the wait.

We ordered:

Pancake Chocolate Burger which is stuffed with fresh fruits, brownies and covered with milk and white chocolate. It was delicious but definitely not to be eaten alone.

The Éclairs on a Stick were mouthwatering as they were fully dipped with chocolate and very creamy from the inside.

The Lazy Cake is a classic and it's a safe choice for those who don't like trying new stuff yet it was so tasty.
The Caramel Crêpe was orgasmic as it was filled with digestive and caramel and flooded with white and milk chocolate. It is a must try.

Chocolate Bar should be on your to do list as you will enjoy great service, good quality of ingredients and the chance to try new desserts that will lighten up your day.

Average price: 9$ per person.

Wild Tales Movie Review

A captain crashes a plane on his parents house, a waitress puts rat poison in a client dish and a bride makes love to an unknown during her wedding party. This may seem so extreme but it really happens somewhere on this planet.

All these stories and many more are the ingredients of WILD TALES, the recent movie we fell in love with!

Wild Tales is an Argentine-Spanish black comedy film written and directed by Damián Szifron. It is composed of six short movies, each one with a different plot but having all in common the theme of vengeance. It's translated in French and Arabic.

The plot is very clever and extremely creative and the fact that it is a group of short movies made the movie very quick interesting and far from being boring.
The music is very catchy and the direction was phenomenal.
The movie won many awards including a nomination in the Cannes Film Festival and got 96% of votes on Rotten Tomatoes.
If you like vengeance then you should definitely watch this movie.

Miyagi a sushi restaurant in Mtayleb.

Sushi is not only delicious but it’s also very good for your health. It is a wonderful bonus to be able to eat the food you love without paying the price for your indulgence. This is one of the main reasons we eat sushi minimum once per week. Our recent discovery was Miyagi on Mtayleb highway in Centre Moukarzel.
The place doesn't have a Japanese charm due to the white color and lights.
Their menu is overloaded and very confusing. They have everything including Chinese platters and Burgers.
We started with salads:
• The Crazy Salad was great but it had an overdose of mayonnaise that made it heavy. The crab were fresh and it had something different from others which is noodles.
• The Kani was tasty. It included salmon, crab, and avocado. They were fresh as well but it had also extra mayonnaise.
• The sushi were good compared to their price. The portion was good, the ingredients were fresh but the only negative thing was the rice that was overcooked.

• The Crispy Philly Salmon was our favorite. It contained Philadelphia cheese, salmon and crispy. We loved it.
• For dessert we ordered a chocolate fondant which is becoming our addiction lately. It was more of a warm chocolate cake with chocolate syrup on top but it was delicious. It was served with a delicious vanilla ice cream scoop and whipped cream. We finished it in seconds.
We liked Miyagi for the freshness of their items and their good prices and warm service. Some moderation will highly boost this restaurant.
